DOCTORS' PROFILES
Dr Tattersall joined the surgery in 1991. He has a special interest in mental health and is Mental Health Lead for East Lancashire. The surgery occupies premises in a Victorian house situated two miles from Burnley town centre. We endeavour to provide a comprehensive service for all members of the family with particular accent on health promotion and screening delivered by all members of our health care team. Dr Alvi joined the practice as a Partner in 2006. She has a special interest in women's health and diabetes.
We hope this booklet will give you all the information you require about the facilities and services available from our practice. Please make yourself familiar with this information and keep the booklet in a safe place.
RECEPTION
OPENING HOURS
The surgery is open Monday to Friday between 8.30am - 7.00pm with extensions on Thursday mornings (open from 6.45am) and Tuesday evenings (open until 7.45pm).
PARKING
At Manchester Road there is parking available in the nearby streets. We do, however, ask you to park with due consideration for the residents, in particular keeping driveways clear. The surgery's car park area is for the use of doctors and staff only.
OUT OF HOURS SERVICE
When the GP Surgery is closed and you have an urgent medical problem that cannot wait until the surgery opens ring

APPOINTMENTS
We are still experiencing a high demand for appointments, we are trying to manage this by keeping some appointments for same day booking and some that can be booked for the following day. Please help us by using our service wisely and cancelling appointments you no longer need or are unable to keep

TRAVEL VACCINES
With the holidays 'season' upon us please remember that you need to book appointments for Travel Vaccines early. In the first instance either ring or call in to give details of your holiday, the resort you are travelling to, the country,the type of holiday especially if you are going on safari or into unchartered territory for instance, how long you are away, the date of travel and the type of accomodation i.e. hotel/with family etc.
You will either be given an appointment for the nurse or asked to ring back when the nurse has checked what vaccines you need and an appointment will be given at this time
