All female patients between the ages of 20 and 65 are advised to have regular smear tests every three years. You will be sent a reminder. The tests are carried out by the practice nurse and appointments can be made in the normal way.

The practice nurse is happy to give information and advice on travel requirements and to administer any necessary vaccines. If possible, at least eight weeks prior to your holiday/trip please ring or call giving full information about your destination, date of travel and length of stay. Arrangements will then be made for you to be given the necessary appointment(s).

Influenza and pneumonia vaccines are recommended for patients over 65 years, those with heart, lung or kidney disease or diabetes and residents of community homes. Please contact reception staff in September for details of vaccination dates.

MINOR SURGERY

Both doctors hold minor surgery clinics where they perform simple surgical procedures under local anaesthesia. They also hold regular cryotherapy clinics for the removal of warts. Patients should see the doctor who will, after examination, refer them.

MINOR AILMENTS SCHEME

This surgery participates in a minor ailments scheme with local chemists. Patients signing up to the scheme will be issued with a passbook by the surgery. This entitles them to go to local pharmacies to receive medications for minor ailments such as cold sores, coughs, nappy rash, head lice etc.

Patients who would like more information about the scheme should contact the surgery on 420680 or call in to reception.
